Ongoing | SNAP CIC; Company Director A Start-up Social Enterprise established in October 2013 with Jo Gibson and Nick Harsant to deliver combined art and music educational projects in East London. We are exploring methods for collaborating across artforms in educational projects, to test the idea that combining visual and aural modalities will increase creative learning, as well at the quality of the final works. Ongoing | Artist Commission; The Inzito Partnership Commission to create portrait drawings of partners and employees at this headhunting partnership. |
2013 | Engaged Practice Action Research Bursary; Yorkshire Artspace Based in Parson Cross, and being mentored by artist-educator Steve Pool, I used portrait drawing to explore/critique ideas of artist-subject identities and to explore whether there is potential for healing through these encounters. |
2013 | African Quaker Peacebuilders Exhibition; Curator ‘This Light that Pushes Me’ is an exhibition combining photographic portraits and text to describe lives and faith of 20 East-African Peacebuilders. It was exhibited at Friends House in May 2013, then again in 2014. It was then exhibited at the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, June 2014 at ExCel. |
2009–2011 | Leytonstone Arts Trail; Coordinator Leytonstone Arts Trail www.leytonstoneartstrail.org is a festival of visual arts that takes place every summer in venues accross Leytonstone. I took on the festival and initiated the development of an artist-led organisation. I recruited and managed volunteers for the steering group and acted as first point of contact and ensured appropriate liaison was maintained with other arts organisations, local community groups, schools and authorities. |
2011 | Paper Stories; Project Leader The Paper Stories project involved ninety 7-8 year olds, and twenty-five 14 year olds at Buxton School; Leytonstone in creating stories and illustrating or animating them. The finished work was exhibited as part of Leytonstone Arts Trail. |
2010 | Part Ark; Curator Exhibition of participatory and site specific works in Langthorne Park as part of Leytonstone Arts Trail 2010. Works by Frances Bowman; Katie Gilman; Michelle Letowska; Sonia Paço-Rocchia. |
2010 | Battersea Arts Centre; Creative Technical Apprentice I spent 10 weeks being trained in all aspects of technical theatre whilst also going on work placements at a variety of theatres and related companies. |
2009 | Visiting Arts; 1mile2 Project Delivery Coordinator 1mile2 was a participatory art project exploring issues of sustainability. |
2008 | Whitechapel Gallery; The Street; Photographer’s Assistant As part of Whitechapel Art Gallery’s project The Street. I assisted Eileen Perrier in photographing passers-by in a market stall, promoted project to passers-by and ensured release forms were completed accurately. |
